Liz has recently been elected as Secretary for Manchester Girl Geeks for 2011 and previously held the position as Communications Officer.
Plug-In-Lancashire - http://www.plug-in-lancashire.co.uk
Liz is founder and organiser of this group. Plug-In-Lancashire is a group to support women in SET (Science, Engineering and Technology), in and around Lancashire. "The meetings will normally be informal and workshop based, to support creative learning, professional development and networking in a supportive environment. We plan to rotate the events around the Lancashire area to reach a wider group of geeky ladies, and to enable networking in different parts of the county."

Liz is one of the Social Media Surgeons for this monthly meet-up in Blackpool. The aim of the group is to get SMS (Social Media Surgeons) "aka geeks" and anyone from VCFS and NPO organisations and groups together to help the organisations grow online, and make sure they have an online presence staff can manage.

The Lancashire Artists' Network supports a wide variety of artists from different backgrounds and creative mediums. Liz is now on the Steering Group and Web Team for the group, that is now only run by volunteers, due to the funding cuts in April 2011.

A fantastic new bi-monthly event in Preston, Lancashire, designed to bring together those interested in social and digital media from the local area to learn, teach and meet each other.

A new strand to the Open Coffee Lancashire network started up in August 2012, in Preston with DigiEnable and Bren Cook. They are informal meet ups used to bring business based people together, to do a bit of networking, meet contacts in the area, share ideas and provide advice for one another.
