"For our August Guest Network event for the Cornerhouse we are excited to welcome the delightful, friendly and extremely interesting Manchester Girl Geeks for one of their great Tea Party practical session."
Manchester Girl Geeks’s very own Liz Hardwick will be running an audio/video production workshop using free tools and your own equipment! You will learn how to turn those little videos on your camera or phone into presentable clips and find out how to publish them online, only using free tools and your own equipment.
The theme set for this workshop is “Manchester”, and we will produce short clips about life in the city
The workshop is a basic introduction to audio/video tools and requires no prior experience. However, you will need to bring a laptop and know how to use it :)
What you need to bring:
your laptop (Windows, Linux, Mac, all welcome)
videos that match the theme “Manchester” – filmed on your phone, pocket camera, video camera, laptop… anything goes!
If you can, please try and bring the videos on your laptop, a USB pen drive, memory card, or external hard drive, if you get stuck bring the camera you used with you and we’ll try and help. Please don’t forget the cables!
About Manchester Girl Geeks
The Girl Geek Tea Parties are part of Manchester Girl Geeks, a not-for-profit group which organises networking events, talks and hands-on workshops for women and girls with an interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.
The Girl Geek Tea Party sessions in Manchester were started in December 2009 as an activity oriented, family friendly addition to the dinners. The workshops are held monthly on Sunday afternoons at MadLab in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, and include both hands-on activities such as an introduction to web development and “Build your own PC” sessions, as well as talks on exciting science topics."
